Ctrl+Alt+Delete: The metaverse is destined to fail

Opinion: I spent the showtime week of Jan at the CES 2022 briefing, and there was one buzzword in particular that was impossible to escape: the metaverse.

That's not a huge surprise, as people accept been talking about the metaverse ever since Mark Zuckerberg changed Facebook's parent company proper name to 'Meta' to reflect his new focus on the futuristic platform.

Withal I was still shocked to come across how many companies on the CES show floor had jumped on the metaverse bandwagon.
